This Phase 4 study is enrolling adults with early polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) to evaluate sarilumab, a medication that targets inflammation. Participants will receive either sarilumab or a placebo every two weeks while following a gradual, physician-guided reduction of prednisone over 52 weeks.
The study is randomized and double-blind, meaning neither participants nor study staff will know which treatment each person receives during the study. The goal is to determine whether sarilumab may help manage PMR symptoms while reducing reliance on long-term prednisone use, and to further evaluate its safety and tolerability.
