This Phase 3 study is enrolling adults with uncontrolled gout to compare two ways of receiving the medication pegloticase: a subcutaneous injection (under the skin) versus an intravenous (IV) infusion (into a vein). Both groups will also take methotrexate weekly.
The study is randomized and double-blind, so neither participants nor study staff will know which method each person is assigned to. The goal is to determine whether the injection method works just as well as — and may be more convenient than — IV infusion.
