Our Story
Lakeside Research is the clinical research division of Overlake Arthritis and Osteoporosis Center , one of the Pacific Northwest’s premier rheumatology practices.
For over 20 years, Overlake Arthritis has been providing exceptional care to patients with rheumatologic conditions. Recognizing the importance of advancing treatment options through clinical research, we established Lakeside Research to participate in groundbreaking clinical trials while maintaining our commitment to patient-centered care.
Our mission is simple: to improve the lives of patients with rheumatologic conditions by contributing to the development of new and better treatments.
The safety and well-being of our research participants is our highest priority. We follow rigorous protocols and maintain constant vigilance.

For more than 20 years, our physicians have cared for patients with rheumatologic conditions right here in this community. We’ve seen remarkable advances in medicine, new therapies, new understanding, real breakthroughs.
We’ve also seen patients who needed those breakthroughs but couldn’t reach them. Clinical trials existed. Better options existed. But they were far away, confusing to navigate, and disconnected from the care patients trusted.
We asked ourselves one question: Why should any patient have to travel far or start over just to get better options?
They shouldn’t. So we built something better.
You Will Be Known Here
At Lakeside, you are never a chart number or a new intake form. From your first conversation with our research team, we take the time to understand your full history, your diagnosis, your treatments, what has worked, and what hasn’t.
We work directly with your existing rheumatologist, whether that’s a physician at our practice or yours, to make sure your care stays fully connected. You don’t choose between your doctor and a clinical trial. You get both.
Joining a clinical trial here doesn’t mean leaving your care behind. It means adding to it.
You Keep Your Rheumatologist. We Work Alongside Them
You do not have to be a patient at Overlake Arthritis and Osteoporosis Center to participate in a clinical trial at Lakeside. We welcome patients from any rheumatology practice in the greater Seattle–Bellevue area.
Your rheumatologist remains your rheumatologist. We collaborate with them directly, sharing trial updates, coordinating your care, and keeping them informed every step of the way. Your relationship with your physician is never disrupted.
